The Rural Nevada Continuum of Care seeks volunteers to assist with the Rating and Ranking process for the FY 2021 CoC Funding Competition for the RNCoC. Participation on the Rating and Ranking Committee will entail the following:

  • Committee members will receive 2-3 project applications and their corresponding rating sheets electronically by October 8th. TA and instructions for how to rate applications will be available.
  • Committee members will be asked to read and provide a preliminary rating for each application and submit ratings electronically by noon on October 12th.
  • On October 13th, the Rating and Ranking Committee will meet virtually from 9 am to 3 pm to hear agency presentations, ask questions, discuss and adjust ratings, and rank projects for funding. This meeting will require full commitment and participation. We ask that participants turn on their videos for the duration of the meeting.

Volunteer raters cannot be a current or prospective grantee for the 2021 funding cycle. The RNCoC is seeking participation from diverse volunteers to fully represent our rural communities even if they have never participated in such a process before. People with current or recent lived experience of homelessness and people representing diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to volunteer.  Additionally, this is an excellent opportunity to understand the Rating and Ranking process if you are interested in applying for CoC funding in the future.

Your participation will help to secure significant and necessary funding to support people experiencing homelessness throughout rural Nevada. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to mbaren@socialent.com no later than October 6th.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Marika Baren, RNCoC Coordinator, at mbaren@socialent.com.
If you are unable to participate, please consider sharing this opportunity within your community.
